Guwahati, 29th March: In a horrific incident, a youth was allegedly hacked to death with an axe by his maternal uncle in Morigaon district of Assam on March 29.
The gruesome incident occurred amidst a heated land dispute in Na- Mayanguri town of the district.
The victim has been identified as Bhowmik Konwar.
As per sources, Bhowmik was allegedly killed by his uncle due heated land dispute.
His uncle, identified as Rupam Laskar attacked Bhowmik mercilessly with an axe.
After committing the murder, Rupam Laskar proceeded towards the town with the blood severed head in his hand.
When the locals noticed him walking around with the severed head, they raised the alarm and visited his residence and there they realized what had happened in the house.
Following the incident, locals immediately informed Morigaon police.
Upon reaching, Morigaon Police officials arrested the accused Rupam Laskar for further investigation.
It needs to mention that victimβs body has been transferred to Morigaon Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and panic throughout the area.
