Assam: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Announces Major Road Development Initiative in Gauripur

Guwahati, 15th March: Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced a significant initiative for the residents of Gauripur in Dhubri ahead of the elections.

The Centre has approved the allocation of Rs 421.15 crore for the construction of a new four-lane National Highway 17 from Gauripur Dumrdah village to Baldamara.

This project includes the construction of a vital bypass for Gauripur town, spanning a total length of 9.61 kilometres.

The introduction of this bypass is expected to address long-standing issues such as traffic congestion and road accidents, offering relief to the residents of Gauripur.

Furthermore, the implementation of an elaborate road safety system aims to substantially reduce road accidents in the Gauripur area, addressing a major concern of the local population.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made the announcement through his official ‘X’ handle, underlining the government’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure and connectivity across the nation.

The approval of this allocation represents a crucial advancement in improving transportation infrastructure in the region, promising a safer and more efficient commute for the people of Gauripur and surrounding areas.
