Assam: UPPL Faces Setback as 46 Leaders formally join to Bodo People’s Front
Guwahati, 17th December: In a significant blow to the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) led by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro and the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP), 46 leaders, including UPPL members, officially joined the Bodo People’s Front in an event held in the Salbari subdivision of Baksha district on December 16.
A gathering took place at the Govardhana Bodoland Darbar auditorium under the initiative of the BPF’s Salbari district committee. During the party meeting, 46 individuals, including prominent UPPL leaders, formally became part of the BPF.
Chaired by BPF’s Salbari District Committee In-charge President Khanindra Brahma, the meeting saw the participation of UPPL Central Member Kanak Chandra Boro, Salbari District Committee Organizing Secretary Vinod Swargiyari, Jiten Kalita, Treasurer Theron Selaray, Member Bebika Basumatary, and Shalbari Block Committee Organizing Secretary Mukunda Das, among others.
BPF Central General Secretary and former MLA Maneshwar Brahma, former MLA Thaneshwar Basumatary, Youth BPF President and MCLA of Salbari constituency Jay Musahari, along with several other leaders, attended the meeting.
