Assam: Vigilance Directorate Nabs Corrupt Lat Mandal in state’s Ongoing Anti-Corruption Drive
Guwahati, 8th November: In a relentless effort to root out corruption, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption spurred by the unwavering commitment of Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, achieved a breakthrough on Wednesday.
Their vigilant team successfully apprehended a Lat Mandal named Purnima Gogoi, who had been stationed at the Demow Revenue Circle office in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
Taking to X, the official handle of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption informed that the Lat Mandal was caught red-handed while on the act.
According to their announcement, Purnima Gogoi was caught red-handed, and the incriminating act transpired in front of the Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office.
The reason behind her arrest was her involvement in accepting a bribe related to the processing of a land patta, which has raised concerns about corruption in local administrative procedures.
The post read, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Purnima Gogoi, Lot Mandal of the O/O Demow Revenue Circle, Dist-Sivasagar, after she accepted bribe in front of Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office for processing land patta related matter.”
