Assam: Vigilant Bansibari Residents Nab Drug Peddlers in Anti-Drug Campaign

Guwahati, 1st August: In a powerful display of community action, residents of Banshibari under the jurisdiction of Govardhana police station have successfully detained three alleged drug peddlers, handing them over to the authorities. The suspects, identified as Isharul Ali, Bashir Ahmed, and Rubul Ali, were captured in a well-coordinated operation by vigilant locals.

For the past two years, Banshibari has struggled with rampant drug smuggling, which has had a detrimental impact on the youth in the area. Determined to address this escalating issue, the residents organized a community-led anti-drug campaign. The campaign reached a pivotal moment when a large crowd surrounded a house suspected of being a hub for drug traffickers. The residents managed to chase down and capture the suspects, marking a significant victory for the community.
