Assam: Violent Altercation Erupts in Guwahati’s Jayanagar Locality
Guwahati, 22nd May: A violent altercation in Guwahati’s Jayanagar locality on Tuesday evening left two youths seriously injured, sparking concern among residents. The altercation, which escalated from a dispute over trash removal, involved the owners of Anjani Mobile Store and S&F Gym.
Bitu Poddar and Alok Poddar, proprietors of Anjani Mobile Store, were reportedly attacked with sharp weapons by Hiranya Kalita and Hemen Kalita, owners of S&F Gym. The Poddars sustained severe injuries and were swiftly transported to Metro Hospital in Khanapara for urgent medical attention.
The confrontation, captured on CCTV, unfolded rapidly, with the disagreement over trash removal escalating into a violent assault. The CCTV footage is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation, providing critical evidence of the incident’s sequence of events.
