Assam: Violent Attack on Hotel Owner in Doomdooma; Protests Erupt

Guwahati, 10th December: In Doomdooma, miscreants reportedly launched a violent attack on the proprietor of ‘Sagar Hotel’ using sharp machetes over trivial reasons on Saturday night. The hotel owner and some staff sustained severe injuries, and the owner is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

According to the hotel owner, the assailants attacked without any apparent cause, and he criticized the police for negligence in their duty.

Local residents managed to apprehend one miscreant, a resident of Pengri in Tinsukia district, and handed him over to Doomdooma police. The police also seized a motorcycle from him.

However, the other attackers escaped the scene. In protest, hoteliers in the Doomdooma locality decided to shut down their establishments for the day, demanding the immediate arrest of the remaining culprits.

The incident highlights concerns about safety and the need for swift law enforcement action.
