Assam: West Tripura Gears Up for Grand Durga Puja Celebrations with Robust Security Arrangements

Guwahati, 5th October –The much-anticipated Durga Puja celebrations in West Tripura are set to begin on *October 10, with Agartala and surrounding areas preparing for large-scale festivities. District Magistrate and Collector of *West Tripura revealed that nearly 900 pandals will be set up across the district, with around 500 of these located within the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations and guarantee public safety, a robust security plan has been put in place. An additional 1,500 police officers will be deployed for round-the-clock monitoring, alongside 500 traffic police officers tasked with managing vehicular movement in key areas. “We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment during the Puja festivities,” the District Magistrate stated.

In light of the large crowds expected to attend, security measures will be heightened with the establishment of 11 checkpoints across the region to regulate movement. The use of CCTV cameras and drones will further enhance surveillance and help monitor activities during the event.

Additionally, a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will be on standby, ready to respond to any emergency situations that may arise during the celebrations.

With comprehensive planning and reinforced security measures, West Tripura is poised for a safe and festive Durga Puja celebration.
