Guwahati, 25th August: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that nearly 98 percent of the decisions had either been fully or partially executed. Speaking to the media after the 100th cabinet meeting in Guwahati, CM Sarma stated that a startling 1238 decisions had been made by the cabinet up to that point, 1217 of which had been carried out effectively.
CM Sarma also announced that the pension for the National Widow Pension Scheme would rise from 300 rupees to 950 rupees. This large increase provides widows with a total pension of 1250 rupees under the new program, better-assisting widows.
The introduction of a new semiconductor strategy in Assam was one of the important announcements made during the press conference. This policy intends to promote innovation and growth in this crucial area given the growing importance of semiconductor technology across numerous industries.
In response to a question about urban security, Chief Minister Sarma said that Guwahati has received a large 230 crore rupee allocation for the installation of CCTV cameras.
‘Modi Swacch Zila Puruskar’, a new initiative, was presented in an effort to promote cleanliness and hygiene. Districts would receive a hefty prize of 100 crore rupees if they exhibit great cleaning standards and act as role models for others.
Chief Minister Sarma emphasized the government’s dedication to efficient governance while announcing the impending implementation of new regulations for executive business in Assam.
The formation of four new districts, which will give the state’s administrative map new dimensions, was another announcement made by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma during the news conference. Hojai, Biswanath, Tamulpur, and Bajali are the names of the four new districts. The decision, which took effect on December 31st, is a proactive move toward restructuring the regional environment and attending to the state’s changing demands.
