Assam: Wild Elephant Dies Of Electrocution in Gossaigaon

Guwahati: In a horrible incident, a wild elephant died due to electrocution in Gossaigaon district of Assam on wednesday.

According to reports, the jumbo died after coming into contact with a live wire that was exposed from its pole.

The incident was reported in Peripur region.

Forest officials arrived at the scene soon after the incident and conducted an autopsy.

A wild elephant’s carcass was recently found in a river in Numaligarh in the Golaghat region of Assam.

The elephant’s death was thought to have resulted from its fall into an illegally dug sand pit.
