Assam: Wild Elephant Found Dead in Ballamjhora Village, Suspected to Have Strayed from Raimona National Park

Assam – In a tragic incident, the lifeless body of a wild elephant was discovered in Ballamjhora village, within the Raimona Western Forest Range.

Villagers believe the elephant may have wandered from the nearby Raimona National Park, possibly due to rising water levels in the area.

The deceased elephant was found trapped in a collapsed embankment, prompting immediate concern among the local community.

Residents quickly notified the forest department late last night after discovering the unfortunate scene.

Forest department officials are currently on-site, working to recover the elephant’s body from the water. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of death and whether the rising water levels contributed to the animal’s tragic demise.

Further details are expected as authorities continue their efforts.
