Assam: Wild Elephants Wreak Havoc in Morangi; Homes Destroyed, Crops Trampled

Assam: Wild elephants have been wreaking havoc across Morangi, Assam, causing widespread damage to property and crops. In recent weeks, herds of elephants have been venturing into residential areas, destroying homes and trampling through rice fields.

The situation has been particularly severe in Morangi Mouza, where multiple homes have been destroyed by rampaging elephants.

These wild animals have also been observed grazing in fields and tea gardens, disrupting agricultural activities and causing significant economic losses to local farmers. The situation escalated further last night when a house was completely destroyed by a rampaging elephant.

In the Goranga fields, a herd of elephants has been causing significant distress to local farmers by wandering through their fields and trampling crops. The behavior of some of these elephants has become increasingly aggressive, with instances of them charging at people. Experts believe that this aggressive behavior may be a result of provocation by certain individuals, further escalating the conflict between humans and these wild animals.
