Assam: Wild Tusker Found Dead In Goalpara

Guwahati, 11th November: In a tragic incident, a wild elephant was found dead in a paddy field on November 10 at Simlapara in Krishnai, within Assam’s Goalpara district.

Upon being informed by the locals, Forest department officials immediately reached the scene. The cause of the tusker’s death is yet to be established.

This incident deepens concerns as it adds to a string of enigmatic elephant deaths in the region.

Earlier, two elephants were found dead in the Kondoli area of Assam’s Nagaon district in July.

Similarly, a poignant discovery unfolded in June when an elephant calf was found dead in a drain in Udalguri district under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam.

However, in most cases the exact reason of these deaths remained unknown.
