Guwahati, 29th April: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, authorities in Manikpur, Bongaigaon apprehended a woman with heroin valued at over Rs 1.5 lakh. The arrested individual, identified as 33-year-old Shahida Khatun from No. 1 Nachanguri in Bongaigaon district, was intercepted by police during a raid led by Monimoy Tamuli, the officer-in-charge of the Manikpur police station.
Acting on intelligence gathered by the police, the raid was conducted, resulting in the interception of Khatun who was found in possession of 96 containers filled with heroin. The arrest occurred while Khatun was en route to Barpeta, traveling aboard an ultra bus with registration number ED AS 17B 6919.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities also seized Khatun’s mobile phone for further investigation. Investigations into the matter are currently underway as law enforcement authorities work to uncover additional details surrounding the drug trafficking operation.
