Assam Woman Cricketer Uma Chetry Urges Removal of Helipad from Bokakhat Playground

Guwahati, 10th November: Assam woman cricketer Uma Chetry has expressed disappointment over the authorities’ delay in removing the helipad at the practice ground in Bokakhat.

Despite Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s directive, the helipad set up just two days ago, remains in place, causing inconvenience to athletes.

Uma Chetry, along with her coach Majibur Rahman, highlighted the challenges they face during practice due to the presence of the helipad.

Despite assurances from the Chief Minister, the authorities have not taken steps to relocate the helipad, leaving the cricketer and her coach disheartened.

Uma Chetry, addressing the media, emphasized the need for the helipad’s immediate removal to facilitate proper practice for both her and other aspiring players.

Coach Majibur Rahman echoed these sentiments, underscoring that the prompt removal of the helipad would greatly ease their training sessions.

The plea is directed at the Chief Minister to intervene and ensure the expeditious resolution of the issue.
