Assam: Workers injured in firing incident by Naga miscreants

Guwahati, 9th October: Tension gripped Sonari in Assam after unidentified individuals opened fire on October 8, creating a tense atmosphere in the area, according to reliable sources.

Initial reports indicate that the incident occurred at the Kanubari tea estate in Sonari, located in the Charaideo district of Assam near the interstate border with Nagaland.

Sources have revealed that two individuals from Nagaland, riding a motorcycle, engaged in a dispute and subsequently fired shots.

These miscreants were reportedly armed with country-made firearms and fired within the tea estate premises, resulting in injuries to two workers employed there.

The workers, alarmed by the gunshots, attempted to escape but were unfortunately hit and wounded in the process.

The injured individuals have been identified as Dandu Mahali and Suresh Munda, according to official reports.
