Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state, Assam Police seized a huge amount of illicit Yaba tablets worth Rs 3 crore at Sonapur on Saturday morning.
According to reports, police stopped a car with the registration number “DL 7CK 8778” at the Nazirakhat toll gate.
Approximately 70,000 pills were found in the car after a routine inspection.
It has been discovered the drugs were being trafficked out of Manipur .
Meantime, the car’s driver has been arrested in relation to the seizure.
According to authorities, a case has been filed against the driver under the NDPS Act.
An investigation to unearth further linkages is on.
