Guwahati, 23rd June: Law enforcement officials on June 23 apprehended Mafizul Ali, a 21-year-old drug peddler, in the Gossaigaon sub-division following a tip-off from the Shimultapu police station. The authorities seized 15 containers of brown sugar, amounting to 2.18 grams of the illicit substance.
Mafizul Ali, a resident of Oxiguri village and son of Abdul Motaleb, was reportedly engaged in drug trafficking, moving between villages to sell the contraband. His arrest is part of a broader initiative by the police to crack down on drug trafficking in the region, leveraging community tips and intelligence to intensify their operations.
