Guwahati: A boy was crushed to death on spot by a train in Lakhimpur district of Assam on Tuesday.
The mishap took place between the Dhalpur to Gohpur Route.
The deceased has been identified as Jagat Konwar.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, Konwar was hit by the Lachit Express train near Dhalpur North Katni Junction railway station of the district.
Locals claimed that the boy was most probably playing games on his mobile phone using earphones.
Moreover, some of the locals suspected that the incident took place while he was sleeping on the railway track of the train after consuming alcohol at night.
