Assam youth found dead on railway tracks in Bhubaneswar

Guwahati, 10 March: A young man from Bilasipara in Dhubri district, who had ventured to Maharashtra’s Pune in search of employment as a migrant worker last month, met a tragic end under puzzling circumstances on March 9 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Sources indicate that the deceased was en route to his hometown of Bilasipara from Pune when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The deceased, identified as Uttam Sarkar (32), was discovered in a grievous state and subsequently succumbed to his injuries, sparking suspicions of foul play and leading authorities to consider the incident a potential homicide.

The incident has left the Bilasipara community in shock, evoking feelings of unease and uncertainty. Efforts are underway to retrieve the body and transport it back to Bilasipara, with Mithun Roy, the central chairman of the minority council of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), spearheading arrangements for the same.

This incident has reignited concerns regarding the safety of Assamese youth, with Mithun Roy condemning it as yet another heinous crime against the state’s youth.

The circumstances surrounding the young man’s death remain veiled in mystery, leaving the community grappling with unanswered questions and underscoring the imperative need for a thorough investigation to unravel the truth behind this tragic occurrence.
