Guwahati: In a hilarious incident, a young man was injured in an acid attack in Karimganj district of Assam on Saturday.
The incident took place last night in which the young victim was allegedly assaulted by the accused and later thrown acid at him.
The victim has been identified as Manjur Ahmed.
According to reports, he received multiple wounds throughout his body, as well as severe acid burns.
Some locals found him tied up and beaten and alerted the police, who later rushed to the scene.
Reportedly, he was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati in a critical condition and doctors informed that he has been kept in the ICU ward under close observation.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family has filed a complaint in the Patharkandi police station. They have demanded strict punishment for all those who was involved in the incident.
However, police are yet to identify any accused in the matter. An investigation has been initiated and the perpetrators will not go unpunished, officials said.
