Assam: Youth Sets House Ablaze in Desperation for Drug Funds in Nagaon
Guwahati, 12th January: In a harrowing incident from Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday night, a youth allegedly driven by the desperate need for funds to support his drug addiction, intentionally set his own house on fire after his family denied him money.
The incident took place in Morongial of the district.
As per sources, the youth identified as Jamir Ali, grappling with severe drug addiction, confronted his family members seeking financial assistance for his habit.
Unfortunately, when met with a resolute refusal, the distressed youth purportedly ignited the house, leading to a rapidly spreading fire that ultimately consumed the entire residence, leaving the family displaced.
Fortunately, the incident did not result in any casualties or injuries.
Following the blaze, locals apprehended Ali, turning him over to the local police for further legal proceedings.
The aftermath leaves the affected family grappling with the devastating consequences of their home being reduced to ashes.
