Guwahati, 13th March: In a gruesome incident, a youth allegedly killed his mother on March 13 in Barpeta district of Assam.
The incident took place in Mazdia village under Sarthebari Police Station where the youth thrashed his mother continuously which resulted in her death.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Phulbhanu.
As per sources, the youth identified as 24-year-old San Khan allegedly thrashed his mother repeatedly with a bamboo stick.
Following the horrific incident, locals of the village immediately informed the police, which led to the arrest of the accused.
It is suspected that San was in an inebriated state at the time of the crime.
The whole incident shocked the entire area and currently the police are investigating the matter.
