Assam Youths Conferred ‘Young Talent Artists Award 2021-22’

Guwahati: The Young Talent Artists Award for 2021–2022 has been received by a total of 8 artists from Assam.

Minanka Deka and Roshan Haque received awards for mime, Arinjita Bora received one for traditional music, Nishant Malla Buzarbarua received one for painting, Shibangi Ratna Baruah and Noopur Talukda received one for Sattriya dance, Hirakjyoti Sarma received one for folk music and Dipjyoti Bora received one for cane and bamboo craft.

The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) in Guwahati hosted a meeting of the selection committee on November 30 to decide which artists would get the prizes.

All of the northeastern states submitted 73 applications to the NEZCC. 24 brilliant artists were chosen for the awards after the committee carefully reviewed all applications.

The Union Ministry of Culture established the award in 2003 to promote and honour young artists between the ages of 18 and 30 who exhibit talent in a variety of folk art genres.

The applications that the relevant State Department of Art and Culture delivered to the NEZCC were presented to the Panel of Expert Committee for selection.

The prize consists of a certificate and Rs 20,000 in cash. The winners will receive their awards in a special award ceremony. .
