Assam Zoo: Royal Bengal tigress gives birth to 2 cubs

Guwahati: A Royal Bengal tigress named Kazi gave birth to two cubs at the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati.

The zoo’s Royal Bengal tiger population has risen to nine with these new additions.

The forest department has urged the forest minister, Parimal Suklabaidya, to come up with names for the cubs.

The mother and the cubs, according to officials, are apparently in good health. Because the state’s mercury level has dropped in recent days, the zoo’s management has taken all necessary precautions to keep the animals safe from the cold.

Outside the cage, heaters have been installed, and enough dry straw has been placed inside to keep the cubs warm during this cold weather, according to the official.

The mother’s nutrition has been prioritised and around 6-7 kg meat was given to her, officials claimed.
