Assamese Film ‘Tora’s Husband’ Honored at Filmfare Awards Assamese 2024

Guwahati, 11th March: The Assamese film “Tora’s Husband” clinched the prestigious Best Screenplay award at the Filmfare Awards Assamese 2024. Filmfare took to Instagram to announce the accolade, highlighting Rima Das’s remarkable screenplay for the film.

Director Rima Das expressed her excitement on Facebook earlier, revealing the film’s nominations in four categories at the Critics’ Choice Awards: Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Writing, and Best Editing. She extended her gratitude to the jury and Critics Choice Awards, expressing her joy at being recognized alongside esteemed nominees.

“Tora’s Husband,” a 2022 Assamese drama film, delves into the life of Jaan, a compassionate individual navigating the complexities of fatherhood, community, and entrepreneurship in a small Assamese town. Written, directed, and produced by Rima Das, the film captivates audiences with its heartfelt narrative and poignant portrayal of human relationships.
