Assam’s Anishmita Konwar Secures Gold and Chiranjita Bharali Wins Silver at Khelo Para Games
Guwahati, 13th December: Showcasing exceptional performances, Assam’s Anishmita Konwar and Chiranjita Bharali achieved remarkable success by securing Gold and Silver medals in their respective events at the ongoing Khelo Para Games.
Anishmita Konwar claimed the gold medal in the Long Jump event, while Chiranjita Bharali secured a silver in Para badminton. Their outstanding achievements brought pride to Assam, drawing commendation from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who expressed his congratulations on platform X (formerly Twitter).
Chief Minister Sarma stated, “Assam’s girls are making us proud with their stupendous performance at the #KheloIndiaParaGames. Anishmita Konwar has bagged a Gold at the Long Jump event while Chiranjita Bharali has clinched a silver at the Para badminton event. Congratulations to both of them”.
This success follows Ababil Ali’s bronze medal win in the 100mtrs Run T-42 Category at the 1st Khelo India Para Games in New Delhi. The Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare of Assam shared a picture of the triumphant contestants on X (formerly Twitter), celebrating their accomplishments as “Breaking Barriers and Sprinting Glory.”
