Assam’s Boxer Pranita Chutia Granted Bail
Guwahati: Boxer Pranita Chutia, who spent her previous two months in the Sivasagar District Jail, has been granted bail on Friday.
Reportedly, Pranita was arrested for a Facebook post allegedly supporting the banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The boxer is a resident of Moran in Dibrugarh district of Assam.
In 2015, Pranita began training in wushu and boxing. She has competed in a number of state and national level competitions and qualified.
Moreover, Charaideo district court set her free on bond.
Meanwhile, her mother Purnima Chutia expressed her happiness that her daughter had been released from custody so that she may participate in her upcoming match, which is scheduled to take place on August 7 in Guwahati.
