Assam’s Cachar District Gears Up for By-Polls with Strict Directives for Smooth Electoral Process
Silchar: In preparation for the upcoming by-polls scheduled for November 13 in Assam’s Cachar district, the District Election Officer and District Commissioner, Mridul Yadav, issued a stringent directive to ensure a seamless electoral process.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) recently confirmed the polling date, with vote counting set for November 23.
To guarantee the smooth conduct of the elections, Yadav mandated that employees across various sectors, including public sector units (PSUs), state PSUs, banks, educational institutions, and other organizations, must not leave the district without prior approval.
This directive aims to ensure adequate personnel availability for election-related duties, and it will remain in effect until the election process concludes.
The order, which came into immediate effect, underscores the importance of the by-election and the necessity for all employees to cooperate, reinforcing the district’s commitment to a fair and orderly voting process.
Furthermore, the District Election Officer instructed all concerned cell in-charges to promptly provide the names of officers and staff involved in the election process.
This will facilitate the issuance of identity cards and passes for personnel, ensuring efficient election operations.
The Videography, Photography & Pass Cell located in the LC Branch at Unnayan Bhawan, District Commissioner’s office, Silchar, has been assigned to oversee the process.
Officers and staff engaged in election duties are required to submit their details in advance to enable timely issuance of these passes, a crucial measure for maintaining transparency and order during the election.
Yadav emphasized the need for efficient coordination across all departments, urging them to comply swiftly with the instructions to guarantee the effective execution of election-related activities. This step is seen as vital to ensuring a smooth and transparent voting process in Cachar district.
