Assam’s Devajit Saikia Elevated to ICC Board Director
In a significant milestone for Assam, Advocate General Devajit Saikia has been appointed to the prestigious International Cricket Council (ICC) Board. Representing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Saikia officially took charge of his new role at the ICC headquarters in Dubai.
Expressing his gratitude on social media, Saikia acknowledged the support of key figures, particularly Jay Shah, the current ICC Chairman. He wrote, “Assumed charge as Board Director, International Cricket Council, representing BCCI yesterday in Dubai… deeply grateful to Jay (Bhai) Shah for his immense support & encouragement… humbled & privileged.”
Beyond his new ICC role, Saikia continues to serve as the Joint Secretary of the BCCI. With a rich background in sports administration, including his role as the General Secretary of the Assam Cricket Association, Saikia’s appointment to the ICC Board is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field of cricket.
