Assam’s Former Lakhimpur SP Anand Mishra to Contest Elections Independently

Guwahati, 3rd April: Anand Mishra, the former Superintendent of Police (SP) of Lakhimpur in Assam, who recently announced his resignation from the Indian Police Service (IPS) to pursue social service through politics, has confirmed his decision to contest the upcoming elections independently or with another political party.

Despite not securing a ticket from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mishra remains determined to participate in the electoral process and serve the people of Buxar constituency. In his official announcement, Mishra emphasized that his decision to contest is a matter of self-respect for the people of Buxar.

During a Facebook Live session, Mishra expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the public, which motivated his transition into politics. He highlighted his active involvement in social activities and reaffirmed his commitment to serving society through political means.

While expressing disappointment over the lack of guidance and support from his former party, Mishra underscored his dedication to serving the people regardless of party affiliations. He emphasized that his entry into politics is driven by the desire to combat corruption and uphold the interests of his constituents.

Mishra made it clear that his focus is on the welfare of the people of Buxar, stating, “This election is not about me, but about the people.” With unwavering determination, he concluded, “I am contesting the elections; that is sure and final.”
