Assam’s Uma Chetry & Jintimani Kalita Selected In India Women A Squad For Upcoming Series Against England Women A

Sports Desk, 23rd November: In a historic moment for Assam, women cricketers Uma Chetry and Jintimani Kalita are set to represent the India Women A team on an upcoming tour in England. The announcement of the India Women A team for the England tour includes both Uma and Jintimani in its squad.

Uma Chetry, hailing from Golaghat, secures her place in the Indian squad, marking a significant milestone as the first woman from Assam to be called up to the national team. Meanwhile, Jintimani Kalita, known for her participation with Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League, is also named in the team roster.

Uma Chetry, with notable achievements such as contributing to the gold-winning Indian team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, adds to the excitement of the selection. Despite Uma’s absence from the Women’s Premier League auctions, both players are actively preparing for the upcoming England tour with India A.
