Guwahati: In a significant boost to Assam’s entrepreneurial spirit, Sivasagar-based TTLT India Private Ltd, the innovators behind the popular ‘Woolah Tea’ brand, have been granted a patent for their groundbreaking bagless tea technology. This unique invention promises to redefine the tea-drinking experience, moving beyond the traditional teabag.
Officials confirmed today that the patent for “compressed true whole leaf tea dips and method thereof” has been awarded, securing exclusive rights for a period of 20 years from the initial filing date. This development marks a monumental achievement for the homegrown startup, solidifying its position at the forefront of tea innovation.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) took to X to laud Woolah Tea’s accomplishment, stating, “Woolah Tea, a passionate homegrown startup, has successfully patented its unique Bagless Tea Technology.” The post further highlighted the company’s ambition to take this local innovation to a global stage, proudly announcing Woolah’s representation of Assam at the prestigious New York Summer Fancy Food Festival 2025.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the entire team at ‘Woolah Tea’, acknowledging their pioneering spirit and contribution to the state’s industrial landscape. This patent not only recognizes the ingenuity of Assamese entrepreneurs but also paves the way for their product to gain international recognition and market presence.
