ASSEB Declares Higher Secondary Results; Girls Outshine Boys Across Streams

Guwahati: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) today announced the results for the Higher Secondary examinations, covering Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams. Over 3 lakh students received their results in a much-anticipated outcome that reflected both academic excellence and growing participation.

The Science stream emerged as the top performer in terms of pass percentage, with approximately 85 per cent of students successfully clearing the exam. Out of 48,309 students who passed, 25,827 secured first division marks, indicating a robust performance in the state’s scientific education segment.

Commerce results also showed commendable outcomes, with 14,584 students passing. Among them, 6,519 achieved first division, demonstrating a solid grasp of the core subjects in the stream. Meanwhile, the Arts stream continued to have the highest number of examinees, with 226,756 candidates. Of these, 183,745 students passed, and 49,577 secured first division results.

Vocational courses saw modest participation and results, with 824 students clearing the exams and 60 achieving first division. Despite its smaller scale, the stream remains a key element in Assam’s skill-based education approach.

Gender-wise, female students outperformed their male counterparts once again, recording a pass percentage of 82.95 per cent compared to the male pass rate of 78.42 per cent. This continued trend of female academic excellence underscores the positive strides in gender parity across Assam’s educational landscape.

The announcement marks a crucial milestone for thousands of students as they step forward into higher education and career planning, with the results setting the tone for their future pursuits.
