ASTC Launches City Cabs Service and Digital Payments in Assam
Guwahati, 17th November: In a groundbreaking move aimed at transforming urban transportation in Assam, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) proudly announced the commercial launch of its ASTC City Cabs service and digital payment solutions through Unified Payment Interface (UPI), including QR code scans. The launch, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Shri Parimal Suklabaidya, signifies a significant stride in improving convenience, affordability, and the overall commuting experience for the public.
Aligned with the Digital India Initiative, the integration of PhonePe into ASTC’s ecosystem introduces various digital payment options, allowing commuters to effortlessly purchase bus tickets in buses, stations, and city cabs through their smartphones. Additionally, ASTC customers can conveniently pay their monthly dues using PhonePe’s digital payment solutions.
The ASTC City Cabs service features a fleet of well-maintained cabs that can be easily booked through a dedicated mobile application. This user-friendly app enables passengers to track their rides in real-time, make seamless payments, and provide valuable feedback, ensuring a consistently positive and streamlined experience.
ASTC City Cabs is pleased to share that it has completed three months of providing mobility services in Guwahati. To enhance the service further, the commercial launch includes the integration of the ASTC City Cabs app with PhonePe, allowing drivers to settle dues with a click and passengers to make direct payments through their preferred UPI.
Moreover, ASTC City Cabs will initiate online cab booking through post-paid counters/kiosks at LGBI Airport, facilitating inbound passengers who may not have the ASTC City Cab app.
The introduction of ASTC City Cabs and PhonePe digital payment solutions demonstrates ASTC’s unwavering commitment to enhancing public transportation convenience in Assam.
