Atishi Marlena Assumes Charge as Delhi Chief Minister, Honors Arvind Kejriwal

National Desk, 23th September: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi Marlena on September 23 officially took charge as Delhi’s Chief Minister, paying tribute to former CM Arvind Kejriwal by placing an empty chair beside her own.

In her first address to the media, Atishi likened her role to Bharat from the Ramayana, who ruled in Lord Ram’s absence. “Today, I carry the same burden as Bharat did. I will govern Delhi for the next four months with the same spirit,” she stated.

Atishi expressed confidence that the people of Delhi would re-elect Kejriwal in the upcoming elections, emphasizing, “This chair belongs to Arvind Kejriwal, and it will remain here, waiting for him to return.”

She is now the eighth and only the third woman to serve as Chief Minister of Delhi, following Sheila Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj.
