The worker identified as Shambhu Tati at the Samdang Tea Estate near Doom Dooma in the Tinsukia district reportedly suffered serious injuries when he fell into a CTC machine on Tuesday.

The victim accidentally put one of his palms inside the plantation factory’s CTC machine. The injured worker was taken in serious condition to the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh.

As per reports, Shambhu was forced to work on March 7 and 8 during the celebration of Holi.

Meanwhile, the plantation manager Mridul Hazarika was demanded to be arrested by the ATTSA and tea workers who had blocked NH-37 at Hahchara.

According to the ATTSA, failure to take precautions has resulted in a number of similar occurrences. They’ve urged business owners to consider safety precautions when hiring employees for factories.
