Banderdewa Police Tighten ILP Checks to Safeguard Indigenous Interests in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: In a move aimed at preserving the cultural and demographic integrity of Arunachal Pradesh, Banderdewa police have ramped up daily checks of Inner Line Permits (ILPs), reinforcing strict compliance with the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873. The intensified drive targets unauthorized entry of non-Arunachalee individuals, ensuring that every visitor adheres to the state’s legal entry protocol.

Under the ILP system — a cornerstone of Arunachal Pradesh’s internal security and cultural preservation framework — police teams are actively stationed at key checkpoints in border towns like Banderdewa. Every entrant is being verified for a valid ILP before being allowed access into the state. This mechanism, officials stress, plays a crucial role in protecting the interests and identity of indigenous communities.

Authorities have called upon all outsiders to obtain the necessary permits in advance and to cooperate fully during inspections. They reiterated that abiding by ILP regulations is not only a legal requirement but also a civic responsibility that upholds the state’s public order and safety.

This ongoing enforcement is part of a wider initiative to regulate border movement and preserve the unique heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, reflecting the administration’s firm stance on safeguarding the region’s sociocultural fabric.
