Bangladeshi Nationals Held at Agartala Airport

Guwahati: At least six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport on Thursday.

According to reports, the Bangladeshi nationals were arrested on Thursday evening when they arrived at the MBB airport.

Reportedly, among the six arrestees five are women and one male.

They were identified as Doli Begum, Jinnad Begum, Taniya Begum, Khaleda Begum, Munni Begum and Ahad Hossain.

“Preliminary interrogation suggested that they entered Indian territory from Sonamura in Sepahijala district and were en route to Bangalore. We have also seized fake Indian documents from their possession. We are investigating the matter”, police said.

As per reports, the Bangladeshi nationals came from Sitarampur, Cumilla and Kaliganj in Bangladesh.

Earlier on April 6, four suspected Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the Government Railway Police(GRP) at the Dharmanagar Railway Station in North district of Tripura.

Moreover, four people were detained by GRP troops after they arrived  at the Dharmanagar railway station from Agartala in a DEMU train.

The suspected Bangladeshi were identified as Asar Ahmed, Sohag Khan and Sabina Howlader.
