BCCI Announces India’s Squad for ODI & Test Series against Bangladesh
Guwahati: The team for India’s forthcoming ODI and Test series against Bangladesh was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Monday.
Rohit Sharma will serve as the Men in Blue’s captain for the ODI and Test series, with KL Rahul serving as his deputy. For the ODIs, Yash Dayal and Rahul Tripathi were called up.
Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma will not play in the next white-ball series against New Zealand.
Rishabh Pant will serve as Hardik Pandya’s deputy in the T20 International series against New Zealand, while Shikhar Dhawan will skipper Men in Blue in the ODI matchup.
Team India will take on Bangladesh in two tests and three one-day internationals. The first ODI will be played on December 4, and the second and third games will be played on December 7 and December 10, respectively.
The first Test in the series against Bangladesh will start on December 14 and the second Test will start on December 22.
Jasprit Bumrah, who got ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to back injury, has been rested from these tours again to give him adequate time to recover fully.
Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson will be among players who will have an opportunity in the T20Is and ODIs against New Zealand as also in the series against Bangladesh. Rajat Patidar and Rahul Tripathi had impressed with their batting performances during the white-ball series between India A and New Zealand A.
