Beas River in Spate After Cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali

Guwahati: Parts of Himachal Pradesh including Manali have reported cloudburst and flash flood incidents.

Many nullah were in flood following a significant downpour in the remote sections of the upper highlands on Monday early in the morning. The Beas River’s water level has gone up as a result of the cloudburst. People have been urged to keep clear from the river Beas by the authorities.

According to reports, no fatalities have been attributed to the cloudburst but the administration has nonetheless issued an alert.

The people of Solang hamlet are stranded because a small wooden bridge connecting the two villages was washed away. On July 11, a flash flood damaged the village’s bridge. The people constructed a temporary wooden bridge to access the main road.

The state disaster management body cautioned that residents who live near rivers and nullahs now need to take extra care because water levels can rise at any time without notice although the water level has now decreased.
