Guwahati: A 32-year-old lady reportedly committed suicide after becoming frustrated with her husband’s constant taunts and teasing over her ‘ugly’ appearance in Bengaluru.
The deceased was identified as Anisha.
According to a report published by the New Indian Express (TNIE), the incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the DJ Halli region.
Nizamuddin, the deceased’s husband, used to reside with her. Anisha poured kerosene on herself and lit herself flame after her spouse ridiculed her on Monday.
However, when neighbours saw the fire, they doused it and took her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
Anisha’s husband was detained for questioning after her parents filed a complaint. A case has been filed into the matter.
