Bhajan Lal Sharma Sworn in as Chief Minister of Rajasthan in Grand Ceremony

National Desk, 15th December: In a splendid ceremony at the iconic Albert Hall, Bhajan Lal Sharma took the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The event saw the distinguished presence of political luminaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and several union ministers and chief ministers from diverse states.

A political newcomer in terms of legislative experience, Sharma secured his maiden MLA victory from the Sanganer Assembly constituency in the recent 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election.

Despite his newcomer status in the assembly, Sharma’s extensive service to the BJP, having held the position of State General Secretary four times, and his close ties with RSS chief JP Nadda, mark him as a significant figure within the party ranks.

Governor Kalraj Mishra officiated the swearing-in ceremony, witnessed by a large crowd gathered at Albert Hall, symbolizing a historic moment for the state.

In a strategic move towards regional inclusivity, Deputy Chief Ministers Divya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were also sworn in alongside Sharma, reflecting a broader representation of communities and castes in the state’s leadership.

This leadership transition concludes a 25-year trend dominated by Congress leader Ashok Gehlot and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje. The BJP’s decision to appoint Sharma aligns with a deliberate strategy to fortify support in preparation for the 2024 elections, evidenced by the introduction of new faces in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The surprise selection of Bhajan Lal Sharma highlights the BJP’s commitment to revitalizing leadership with fresh faces, departing from established figures like Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan. The announcement was made during a BJP legislature party meeting attended by central observers Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.

As Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma embarks on a new era, promising fresh leadership and direction for Rajasthan, capturing the attention of the nation as he commences his tenure.
