Bharat Lok Sangeet – Arunachal Utsav 2025 Showcases Cultural Brilliance and Global Diplomacy

Itanagar: The Bharat Lok Sangeet – Arunachal Utsav 2025 is more than just a festival—it is a celebration of India’s rich cultural diversity and global unity, said Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein during the festival’s opening in Namsai on February 9.

Highlighting the event’s significance, Mein emphasized the role of folk music and dance as living traditions that bind generations together. He underscored Arunachal Pradesh’s increasing *global cultural exposure, with its folk troupes set to perform at the North East Festival in Singapore, a move that solidifies the state’s growing presence on the international cultural stage.

“This festival is a testament to Arunachal’s role in global cultural diplomacy. It ensures that the younger generation stays connected to its roots while gaining international exposure,” said Mein. He further stressed the importance of nurturing young artists, calling them the custodians of Arunachal’s heritage. The state government, through its Arts and Culture Department, remains committed to *supporting, evolving, and promoting traditional art forms on a larger scale.

The second edition of Bharat Lok Sangeet – Arunachal Utsav is being organized under the aegis of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, celebrating the nation’s diverse folk traditions. This year’s festival has brought together 15 cultural troupes from Arunachal Pradesh, including performances by the Adi, Aka Hrusso, Apatani, Idu Mishmi, Memba, Monpa, Nyishi, Tai Khamti, and Ollo communities.

Adding to the cultural grandeur, groups from Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Manipur have joined the festival, ensuring a vibrant blend of regional traditions. The participation of international performers from Bhutan and Thailand further strengthens cross-cultural exchanges, proving that folk traditions transcend borders and generations.

With its grand showcase of music, dance, and heritage, Bharat Lok Sangeet – Arunachal Utsav 2025 reaffirms Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to preserving and promoting folk traditions while expanding its cultural influence beyond national boundaries.
