Guwahati: In a shocking incident, one person was kidnapped and murdered in Guwahati of Assam on Saturday.
The deceased victim has been identified as Jayvardhan Kumar, hailing from Bihar.
The kidnappers tossed his body into the Brahmaputra River after killing Jayvardhan.
His ATM card was also used by the kidnappers to steal thousands of rupees.
According to reports, Jayvardhan was abducted from a train travelling from Dimapur to Bihar. He was followed by criminals from the Dimapur train station, and when he arrived at the Guwahati train station, his phone had been turned off.
Meanwhile, Jayvardhan’s family in Dimapur reported him missing.
The case was being investigated by GRP’s OC Prasenjit Das.
During the investigations, the police traced the location of Jayvardhan at Sualkuchi.
The police arrested Johor Ali and Ayub Ali following search operations in Sualkuchi.
Jayvardhan’s mobile phone also has been recovered from the duo’s possesion.
