Bihar: NIA carries out raids on hideouts of top Maoist leaders
Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted search operations at the hideouts of some top-ranking Maoist leaders of Bihar in Jehanabad, Gaya, Aurangabad, and Nawada districts.
According to reports, the search operation began with the raid on the residence of Sahdeo Yadav, a close associate of a self-proclaimed area commander of CPI-Maoist, Padumna Sharma in Sampat Bigha village in Nawada district’s Sildala police station area.
Sahdeo was allegedly implicated in Maoist-related activities, including using dynamites to blow up the house of one Lalo Yadav in Jamunia village in 2008.
Rajauli sub-divisional police officer Sanjay Pandey said, “We cooperated with the raiding team. The operation continued for nearly four hours.”
NIA also carried out the raid in Jehanabad on the hideouts of Padumna Sharma and Vikas Sharma in Rustampur hamlet, which is part of the Hulasganj police station area.
“We gave our help to the central investigating agency in their operation,” Jehanabad Superintendent of Police Deepak Ranjan said.
Meanwhile, search operations were also conducted at the residence of a police bureau member Pramod Mishra and a hard-line Maoist Anil Yadav in Kasma village under Kasma police station and Bandiya village under Goh police station in Aurangabad district.
