Bihar Pol Crisis: Nitish Kumar resigns as Bihar CM, Breaks Alliance with BJP
Guwahati: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has cleared his partnership with the BJP and will soon meet with the governor.
Reportedly, before deciding to expel the BJP for a second time, the Chief Minister met with his MLAs. “Expect explosive news” a top member of his party said ahead in the meeting.
According to a top BJP insider who requested anonymity, “Expecting this alliance to survive is like a severely sick patient’s family refusing to give up hope,” national media stated.
As per reports, Nitish Kumar’s worries that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is ferociously trying to separate the Janata Dal (United) were the tipping point in the conflict between the two parties.
Moreover, the single-largest party in Bihar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, or RJD, gathered today to examine the problem in Bihar as well. Tejashwi Yadav is the party’s leader. The party is anticipated to rekindle an old partnership with Nitish Kumar by joining him.
Reportedly, Tejashwi Yadav served as a minister in Nitish Kumar’s coalition administration until 2017, which included the JDU, Lalu Yadav’s party, and the Congress. After severing ties with the BJP that dated back decades, Nitish Kumar established an alliance with them.
However, he leveraged the incident to break off his alliance with’secular’ parties, but Tejashwi Yadav and his brother were accused of corruption. He then later rejoined BJP.
Additionally, the Congress has started holding meetings in Bihar to discuss its position on potential support for Nitish Kumar.
