BJP announces PM Narendra Modi as star campaigner for Sikkim elections
Northeast Desk, 28th March: Ahead of the General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2024 and General Elections to the Legislative Assembly in Sikkim, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has rolled out its roster of star campaigners. This strategic move, announced by Arun Singh, National General Secretary & Incharge, aligns with Explanation (2) to section 77 of the Representation of People Act 1951.
In an official notification by Arun Singh, the BJP has enlisted a cadre of influential leaders to lead the election charge in Sikkim. Among the star campaigners are heavyweight BJP figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Jagat Prakash Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah. The lineup also features prominent leaders such as Nitin Gadkari, Kiren Rijiju, Raju Bista, Satpal Maharaj, D. R Thapa, N.K Subba, Dilip Jaiswal, Kailash Aggarwal, Barat Dulal, and D.T Lepcha.
This move underscores the BJP’s concerted efforts to strengthen its electoral prospects in Sikkim by harnessing the popularity and influence of these seasoned campaigners. The party aims to rally support for its candidates across both parliamentary and assembly constituencies in the state.
