BJP Appoints C R Kesavan as National Spokesperson; Jay Panda Assigned Key Role
National Desk, 28th March: In a significant development within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), C R Kesavan, the grandson of C Rajagopalachari, has been appointed as the party’s new National Spokesperson.
Kesavan’s transition from the Congress to the BJP last year underscores shifting political dynamics in Tamil Nadu. C Rajagopalachari, a towering figure in the political landscape of Madras Presidency, left behind a lasting legacy despite the waning influence of his ideology amidst the rise of the Dravidian movement.
In addition to Kesavan’s appointment, the BJP has announced its Lok Sabha poll in-charges and co-incharges for various states and union territories. Notably, the party has strategically enlisted leaders who did not secure electoral tickets, showcasing a tactical utilization of talent and resources.
Among the key appointments, BJP Vice President Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda has been designated as the poll in-charge for Uttar Pradesh. However, Panda’s campaign involvement is expected to intensify following his nomination as the party’s candidate for the Kendrapara constituency in Odisha.
