BJP Forms Strategic Alliance with JD(U) and AJSU Ahead of Jharkhand Elections
National Desk, 28th September: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on September 28 that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is entering into a strategic alliance with Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) ahead of the upcoming Jharkhand state elections. Sarma, who also serves as BJP’s co-in-charge for the state elections, shared key details of the tie-up during a media briefing in Ranchi.
Sarma confirmed that seat-sharing discussions between the BJP and its new allies are near completion, with only minor details still being negotiated. “The seat-sharing arrangement is almost finalized,” the Assam CM stated, expressing confidence that the remaining issues would be resolved shortly.
The formal announcement of the alliance will take place after Pitru Paksha, a Hindu period dedicated to ancestral rituals. Sarma indicated that the BJP’s collaboration with JD(U) and AJSU could significantly strengthen its position in Jharkhand, as both regional parties wield substantial influence in the state.
This alliance is seen as a key move in the BJP’s strategy to expand its reach and improve its chances of victory in the Jharkhand elections. With the support of JD(U) and AJSU, the BJP aims to present a united front to challenge its political rivals in the state.
